Interestingly, I find haiku challenges left and right (on E, on Plinky, you name it), but I've never tried to take part. I don't find haiku particularly to my taste. I like longer, more flowing, narrative poems; the 19th century was when it was all rocking. Sonnets? Blank verse? Yes, please. (I draw the line at verse novels, though; not even Robert Browning could make those interesting.) And living in the now is something I'd love to do, though shedding my baggage is too much trouble.
