I don't think I'm wacky enough to frighten people, but to weird them out... definitely. Perhaps that's why I've never been among the popular crew. My interests can be offbeat - or off the wall, depending on how mainstream you are. Arcane topics? Yes, please. They're not all occult, of course, but it's my inability to stay on the surface that makes it hard for a lot of amateurs to follow me. When I get interested in something, I dig for China, and end up having to enjoy my deep research alone or with few aficionados out there. Not that I mind. There's plenty to enjoy with others; I don't have to parade my deepest interests too.
